The seawater desalination treatment process mainly includes the following key steps:
Pre treatment: Seawater enters the factory area through diversion channels or pipelines laid on the seabed.Large floating objects in the water are intercepted through a sieve, and algae are killed using agents such as liquid chlorine and sodium hypochlorite.
By using air flotation (DAF) to remove suspended solids from water, compressed air dissolved in the water is released as micrometer sized bubbles in the pool. The pollutants are attached to the surface by the bubbles and scraped into the hopper by the skimmer to complete the separation. Further removal of fine suspended solids, colloidal particles, odors, etc. in water can be achieved through activated carbon+quartz sand filtration or ultrafiltration membrane filtration.
Reverse osmosis membrane treatment: The function of reverse osmosis membrane is to remove organic matter, salt, and bacteria from the influent, thereby obtaining fresh water. Reverse osmosis membrane elements are the core components, and different membrane elements are selected based on the total dissolved solids (TDS) in seawater.
Post treatment: Ultra pure water obtained from reverse osmosis membrane treatment is used in industries such as electronics, power, and biopharmaceuticals. Due to its low hardness, direct consumption is not suitable for human health. It needs to meet the drinking water standards, and the permeate water needs to undergo a remineralization process to increase its hardness. Add liquid chlorine or chlorine dioxide to the treated water to kill pathogenic microorganisms in the water.
Concentrated water discharge: After reverse osmosis, the concentration of seawater has doubled. Due to the increase in salinity and temperature, as well as the presence of chemicals, it will have a negative impact on the surrounding marine environment and its biodiversity.
